Inter, thanks to their impressive recent form under new coach Leonardo, are two points above Roma in the league standings and only two behind second placed Napoli. The Nerazzurri were last seen in action on Thursday night when they beat Bari 3-0 away from home.
The win was somewhat fortuitous as Inter produced a relatively low key performance by their standards. Houssaine Kharja, making his first league start for the club, put them ahead in the 70th minute. Stoppage time goals from striker Giampaolo Pazzini and Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder put more distance between the two sides at the final whistle. It could all however have been very different had Inter defender Cristian Chivu been sent off for punching Marco Rossi close to the hour mark.
Roma drew 1-1 with Brescia in their midweek clash at the Olimpico on Wednesday. The Giallorossi drew first blood through Marco Borriello in the 58th minute, but their lead did not last long as Eder put Brescia back on level terms eleven minutes later. Going into this weekend’s round of fixtures, Roma are nine points behind leaders AC Milan with a game in hand.
Roma coach Claudio Ranieri will be without the services of suspended defender Philippe Mexes for this clash against Inter. Mexes has been handed a two match ban for insulting the fourth official at the end of his side’s draw against Brescia.

AS Roma will be hoping that home advantage will help them attain Cup glory when they meet Inter Milan in the finals of the Coppa Italia on Wednesday evening. Join us today at Ole Ole Football and watch the Coppa Italia final live as it happens.
The final between Inter and Roma is the fifth one between the two teams in the last six years. Inter took the trophy in 2005 and 2006, while Roma triumphed over the Nerazurri in 2007 and 2008. Roma are tied with Juventus for the most number of Italian Cup wins but victory on Wednesday will see them overtake the Bianconeri.
Roma beat Udinese 2-1 on aggregate in the semifinals. The Giallorossi beat Udinese 2-0 at home and therefore progressed to the final despite a 1-0 loss in the return leg in Udine. Inter carved out 1-0 wins against Fiorentina in both legs to win their tie 2-0 on aggregate. Roma defender Marco Cassetti is suspended for this Cup final.

Two goals in the last four minutes saved Inter the blushes in Kiev as they beat Dynamo 2-1 in Ukraine on Wednesday night. Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder and Argentine striker Diego Milito scored in the 85th and 89th minutes respectively to give three valuable points to the Nerazzurri. The result also lifted Inter off the bottom of Group F and propelled them straight to the top.
Inter opened a seven point gap between them and second placed Juventus last Sunday by beating Livorno 2-0. Both the goals, one from the boot of Diego Milito and the other from Brazilian right back Maicon, came in the second half of the game.
If Inter’s start to the season has been good, Roma’s start has been any thing but it. The Giallorossi sacked Luciano Spalletti and replaced him with Claudio Ranieri, but the switch does not seem to have made a major change to Roma’s fortunes. They currently languish in the bottom half of the table with fourteen points from eleven games.
Roma beat Bologna 2-1 last week at the Stadio Olimpico, and followed it up with a similar win against Fulham in the Europa League on Thursday night. Mirko Vucinic and Simone Perrotta were on target against Bologna, while John Arne Riise and Stefano Okako Chuka netted against the Cottagers.
Roma are likely to be without inspirational skipper Francesco Totti for the trip to Milan. Can they beat Internazionale in his absence? Sign up today and watch live streaming of Inter Milan vs AS Roma online to find out.
