Juventus have won two and drawn two in November and have moved to third in the league standings as a result of their good form, just six points behind leaders AC Milan. The Bianconeri beat Genoa 2-0 away from home on Sunday, thereby extending their unbeaten run in Serie A to nine games. Their last defeat came at home to Palermo over two months ago.
Juventus took the lead in the 18th minute when Claudio Marchisio’s effort took a deflection off Genoa’s Dario Dainelli and hit the post. As Genoa keeper Eduardo bent to make the save, the ball rebounded off him and went in to put Juventus 1-0 ahead.
Eduardo was also partly at fault for Juventus’ second five minutes later. Bianconeri winger Milos Krasic, making a run from the right wing into the box, shot at goal. The Portuguese keeper got a hand to the Serbian international’s strike but his partial stop was not good enough to stop the ball from going over the line.
Fiorentina’s poor away run in the league continued as they went down 1-0 to AC Milan at the San Siro last weekend. The Viola have now picked up only two points out of a possible eighteen on the road this season. They also ended the game against Milan with ten men following the dismissal of Per Kroldrup.

Juventus were beaten 2-0 by a hard working Palermo outfit in their last Serie A game. Edison Cavani gave the home side the lead in the 37th minute, latching on to a Javier Pastore pass before shooting past Buffon. The Uruguayan international had earlier headed wide from Fabrizio Miccoli’s cross with the goal at his mercy.
Palermo doubled their lead five minutes later. Miccoli whipped in a free kick which was diverted in by Fabio Simplicio. Juve appealed for offside but in vain. Midfield playmaker Diego hit the cross bar with his free kick, but the margin of defeat could have been greater had Pastore’s goal not been disallowed for offside. Alessandro del Piero will miss this match as he continues to recover from a thigh injury.
Fiorentina are tied on points with Juventus going into this game, but La Viola are behind on goal difference. Juventus star Felipe Melo, signed from Fiorentina in the summer, is a doubt for this match because of injury. However Fiorentina winger Marco Marchionni, who came to Stadio Artemio Franchi as part of the deal that saw Melo go to Turin, will line up against his former colleagues.
Fiorentina drew 0-0 with Lazio in their last game. Cesare Prandelli’s men dominated the game for long periods and were unlucky not to emerge with all three points. Adrian Mutu had an early chance disallowed for offside, and the Romanian was again denied later in the game when the referee ruled that Stefan Radu had cleared the ball in time, when replays showed that Mutu’s shot had crossed the line before Radu’s clearance.
Fiorentina have a number of good players in their ranks- Mutu, Alberto Gilardino, Riccardo Montolivo and Stevan Jovetic to name a few. Sign up today and watch Juventus vs Fiorentina live online.
