The penalty was earned by Zambrotta, whose cross was adjudged to have been handled by Real defender Pepe.

Milan have not lost in 2009 and will look to continue with their good form to close the gap at the top.

AC Milan have been involved in intense media speculation this transfer window over on-loan midfielder David Beckham.
