Milan drew an eight goal thriller against Udinese in the last round of fixtures. The Rossoneri needed a last gasp equaliser from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to salvage something from the game after having seen their opponents take the lead twice in the game.

However the draw, coupled with Napoli’s fluent 3-0 demolition of Juventus, means that Milan’s lead at the top of the league has been cut to four points going into Round 20. With the Partenopei playing a day earlier than the Rossoneri, Milan’s lead could be reduced to a single point when they take the field against the Salentini.

Coach Allegri will have to decide whether to break up the partnership of Alexandre Pato and Ibrahimovic upfront and give the temperamental Antonio Cassano an outing against Lecce. Pato, who scored a brace against Udinese, starred in Milan’s 4-0 humbling of Lecce at home when the two sides met in August last year. This is the Rossoneri’s first league game at Lecce in nearly 26 months.

Lecce broke a run of two losses in the league when they upset Lazio 2-1 at the Olimpico last weekend. An own goal from Lazio keeper Fernando Muslera and a 72^nd minute effort from Carlos Grossmuller gave the Salentini only their fifth win of the season in the capital.
