Roma threw away a two goal advantage as they drew 2-2 with Parma at the Olimpico last weekend. New Giallorossi boss Vincenzo Montella restored Francesco Totti to the starting XI at the expense of Marco Borriello and was rewarded when the talismanic striker converted from the spot to put Roma ahead after Taddei had been fouled in the box.

Nine minutes before the interval, Roma doubled their lead through defender Juan after a mistake from opposition keeper Antonio Mirante. However former Juve striker Amauri scored twice in quick succession in the second half to get Parma back on level terms. Roma played with a man extra for the last ten odd minutes after the dismissal of Parma’s Massimo Paci, but were unable to make the most of their numerical advantage.

Midfielder David Pizarro was stretchered off midway through the fixture and is a doubt for this weekend’s trip to Lecce. This is a crucial fixture for Roma as it comes right before their Champions League trip to Ukraine on Tuesday.

Lecce were also involved in a 2-2 draw last weekend, with the Apulians showing great spirit to take home a point against Brescia. The Salentini were down 2-0 within the first twenty minutes but a strike in either half from Daniele Corvia and Gianni Munari respectively allowed them to avoid defeat. Brescia nearly snatched victory in extra time through Andrea Caracciolo, but the latter’s effort was disallowed much to the delight of the visiting fans.
