Roma were lucky to beat CFR Cluj in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The Giallorossi were completely off colour in the first hour of the game and were lucky not to have conceded before defender Philippe Mexes gave them the lead in the 69^th minute.

Summer signing Marco Borriello netted Roma’s second of the game with an exquisite volley before Ionut Rada reduced the arrears for the visitors with his 78^th minute effort. Goal scorer Mexes is suspended for this weekend’s trip to Napoli as he serves the second of his three game league ban.

Napoli left it late to beat Cesena last week. The Partenopei seemed to be heading for defeat after Marco Parolo’s goal had put Cesena ahead, but fought back in the last twenty odd minutes of the game. A goal for Ezequiel Lavezzi, a penalty for Marek Hamsik and a late brace from Edinson Cavani completed a fantastic comeback from the Partenopei.

Napoli are currently three points ahead of Roma in the league standings. The Partenopei are 6^th in the league, while Roma’s sorry start means that they are presently languishing in the bottom three. However the Giallorossi will be full of confidence after their win over league leaders Internazionale last weekend. Mirko Vucinic scored the only goal of the game on that occasion.
