Roma have had mixed results in the last few weeks. They upset Inter Milan 1-0 in late September but were beaten 2-0 by Napoli just before the international break. Claudio Raneiri’s side bounced back in style by beating Genoa 2-1 home after the break but then crashed to a 3-1 defeat against Swiss side FC Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Roma’s goals against Genoa came through Marco Borriello and Matteo Brighi, both of whom netted on different sides of the interval. The Giallorossi are now 12^th in the table but are still nowhere near their expected position at the beginning of the season.

Parma and Cesena had to be content with a point each when the two sides met last week. Erjon Bogdani’s 17^th minute header gave Cesena the lead but Parma responded ten minutes later through Cristian Zaccardo, who headed in a corner from close range.

The Gialloblu took the lead against Bologna through Jonathan Ludovic Biabiany, but had to play for over an hour with ten men following Cristian Zaccardo’s dismissal. Marco Di Vaio’s two goals, on either side of the break, allowed Bologna to complete a comeback win.

Roma’s title aspirations took a huge beating when they were beaten 2-1 by Sampdoria last week. The Giallorossi thus lost their spot at the top of the table to Inter and now trail the Nerazzurri by two points. Roma were leading 1-0 at half time against Samp thanks to Francesco Totti’s opener, but the Blucerchiati fought back thanks to a brace from Giampaolo Pazzini.
