Milan have all but wrapped up the league title after their win over Brescia last weekend. Mathieu Flamini scored what was to be the winner eight minutes after kick off. The French midfielder fired in the rebound after his initial effort was saved by visiting keeper Emiliano Viviano.
The victory for Milan has left the Rossoneri with an eight point lead over second placed Inter with three games to play. Because Milan have a better head to head record against Inter in the league this season, a point against Roma will be enough to guarantee the Rossoneri the title.
Roma edged a five goal thriller against Bari last weekend. Despite having two men sent off and missing a penalty, the Giallorossi still managed to emerge winners at the final whistle. Star playmaker Francesco Totti scored twice to bring Roma back on level terms after Bari had taken the lead twice in the fixture.
Roma’s chances of a win looked remote after Daniele De Rossi and Simone Perrotta had both received their marching orders from the referee. Totti also missed a chance to seal it from the spot, but Aleandro Rosi came with up a scrappy 95th minute winner to break the hearts of Bari fans. The Giallorossi are currently in fifth place with 59 points and are involved in a battle with city rivals Lazio for the last Champions League spot.

Roma squandered a two goal advantage to draw 2-2 with Napoli last week. The Giallorossi took the lead on the hour mark through Julio Baptista and doubled it minutes later through Mirko Vucinic. German Denis pulled one back for Napoli fifteen minutes from time and in a late twist, Roma defender Phillippe Mexes handled the ball, thereby allowing Marek Hamsik to score the equaliser from the spot for Napoli.
Unlike Roma, Milan did not let their lead slip as they emerged comfortable 3-1 winners against Atalanta. Alexandre Pato's first half brace put the Rossoneri 2-0 ahead at half time. Marco Borriello then added the third on the hour mark after Atalanta had reduced the deficit through Valdes. Gennaro Gattuso is suspended this weekend.
