Roma looked to be cruising to victory at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi last weekend thanks to Fabio Simplicio’s first half brace, but all their good work was undone in the second half as they allowed Chievo to come away with a point.

In virtually unplayable conditions at Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, Chievo first reduced the arrears through Davide Moscardelli in the 61^st minute. Pablo Granoche then equalised for the home side seven minutes from time in somewhat controversial circumstances and Roma plunged deeper into trouble when Daniele de Rossi was shown a straight red for a two footed tackle on Granoche. Chievo skipper Sergio Pellissier nearly snatched victory for his side at the end, but Philippe Mexes was on hand to rescue the Giallorossi as he blocked the former’s effort on the line.

Bari’s two game unbeaten run in all competitions came to an abrupt end as they lost 3-0 to Sampdoria last weekend. Like Roma, they also ended the game with ten men on the pitch as Marco Rossi got his marching orders from the referee.

Both Marco and Daniele de Rossi will therefore be ineligible to play for their respective sides this weekend. Roma are currently 8^th in the league with 23 points, while Bari bring up the rear with 10 points from the same number of games. Bari have also not won a single away league game so far this season
