Two strikes at the death from Mirko Vucinic allowed Roma to complete a comeback win over Catania on Thursday evening. The Giallorossi took the lead through Marco Borriello but Catania responded through strikes from Matias Silvestre and Maxi Lopez to lead 2-1 at the interval.

Borriello brought the match back on level terms immediately after the break when he headed in a cross from Norwegian defender John Arne Riise. Just as it seemed that both teams would have to settle for a point, Montenegrin skipper Vucinic netted twice in the last four minutes of the fixture to allow the Giallorossi to emerge 4-2 winners.

Sampdoria slumped to their third successive defeat in all competitions as they went down 3-0 to Palermo on Thursday night. The Blucerchiati have won only once in their last five games and have failed to score in their last three.

Palermo took the lead through Fabrizio Miccoli eight minutes before the break and doubled their advantage through Giuli Migliaccio shortly after the interval. Massimo Maccarone added a late third as the hosts made light work of the Blucerchiati.

Roma have drawn their last two games away at Sampdoria. The Giallorossi are unbeaten in their last six trips to Samp, who last beat the Eternal City outfit at home nearly six years ago. Sampdoria have however lost only once at home in the league this season.
