Australia and Bahrain will take to the field for an Asian Qualifier this Wednesday, after Australia just finished a grueling game with Qatar on Wednesday. As for Bahrain, they have been resting since January when they also played Qatar. The two teams played each other back in November where Australian had a late goal to win, Mark Bresciano taking advantage of a mistake from Mohamed Husain to score. It was a perfect start to the Qualifying for South Africa for Australia, having gained the maximum points from three games played, while Bahrain remained at the bottom of the list, with just one point.

Australia won their qualification for the World Cup once again in the game against Qatar, after a draw that grabbed that extra point that the Socceroos required for South Africa in 2010. After the game on Wednesday with Bahrain, Australia will take on Japan a week after and Australia wasn't the only team qualifying this weekend. Japan and the Korea Republic also earned enough points to qualify for South Africa, Australia and Japan in group one, and Korea the top ranked team in group two. Bahrain's last game with Qatar in April was disappointing for Australia, because it made them wait for their qualification to South Africa, which as mentioned they got on Saturday, but Bahrain striker Fouzi Aaish took the shot at 52 minutes and made the goal that ended the Bahrain-Qatar game 1-0. If Bahrain had drawn against Qatar it would have automatically qualified Australia for the finals, but as it was they had to wait until this month to get their ticket to South Africa. Bahrain is currently third on the group one standings holding seven points.
