John Toshack, the Wales manager will be a happy man if Wales manages to earn a point in their World Cup qualifying round when they play against Russia on Wednesday. This live football match can be viewed live right here on OleOleFootball, your home for live footy action.

Wales were completely embarrassed by the group minnows Azerbaijan in the opening match on Last Saturday and they entire team had to rely on Sam Vokes, the 18 year old who scored his very first goal of his career in the seventh minute from final whistle. 

Having warned his team that they need to make a good start to their qualifying round, manager John Toshack was very much disappointed by his side’s performance in the first half of the game, as Azerbaijan had matched them for the entire first half of the game. When they were given a penalty, Wales should have taken the lead in the first half but Jason Koumas failed badly to convert the kick to goal and in the 83^rd minute, Voke’s goal helped the team to claim three points. 

Koumas has admitted that he could miss the match against Russia on Wednesday. Before he played against Azerbaijan he had to take 3 injections. However, it is very much doubtful whether he will be able to repeat the same on Wednesday against Russia.

 If Koumas does not take the field against Russia, then Toshack will be playing his team without the five key players of the team for match that will decide whether Wales will be able to put up a perfect challenge and gain second spot at least. For Wednesday’s action, Danny Gabbidon, James Collins, Freddy Eastwood and Craig Bellamy will be out and even Gareth Bale is complaining of a groin injury, though Bellamy should be fit to play against Russia. Even the Russians had a hard fight against Netherlands, which ended up in draw on Saturday.
