Argentina beat Nigeria 1-0 in their opening fixture. Marseille defender Gabriel Heinze nodded in unmarked from a corner in the 6^th minute to score what would be the game only’s goal. Lee Jung-Soo’s early volley and a superb second half strike from skipper Park Ji Sung was enough for the Taeguk Warriors to beat Otto Rehhagel’s lacklustre side. South Korea’s slick passing and their speedy counter attacking style will be a major headache for Argentina to contend with. Korea will be full of confidence after their win over the Greeks and look a different side from the one that competed in Germany four years ago.

South Korean coach Huh Jung-Moo has said that while Argentina are favourites to top Group B, his charges are more than capable of springing a surprise at Soccer City on Thursday.
