One of the most eagerly awaited games at this year’s World Cup takes place this weekend as 1966 champions England take on the United States in Rustenburg. Use your membership with Ole Ole Football and watch England vs USA live on your computer.

England were impressive in qualifying under Italian coach Fabio Capello and are one of the favourites to win this tournament. They have also won all three of their pre World Cup warm ups against Mexico, Japan and local South African outfit Platinum Stars, albeit not in very convincing fashion. With Rio Ferdinand being ruled out of the World Cup, Capello is expected to pair Tottenham’s Ledley King with Chelsea’s John Terry in defence.

David James might get the nod ahead of Robert Green and Joe Hart under the sticks. With Gareth Barry injured, captain Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard will play together in midfield. Joe Cole is expected to take the left wing spot, while pacy Aaron Lennon will compete with Shaun Wright Phillips on the other flank. Emile Heskey will partner the temperamental Wayne Rooney upfront to complete the 4-4-2.

The United States will be aiming for a repeat of their 1950 World Cup miracle. They beat the English 1-0 on that occasion, a victory fondly remembered by fans as the “Miracle on Grass”. They will also take heart from their performance in the Confederations Cup last year in South Africa. The USA upset European champions Spain and reached the finals of the event before losing to eventual winners Brazil.

USA have been bolstered by the news that Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu will recover in time for the opener. The only other major injury doubt is forward Jozy Altidore, who has returned to training. Coach Bob Bradley will encourage his side to hit England on the counter, given Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson’s tendencies to move forward to support their attackers. The Americans are also expected to line up in a 4-4-2 like their opponents.
